Fiber & Jewelry
Janick’s interview with Isis of PaperFlowerGirl introduced me to the first combination of fiber & jewelry that I truly like. I’ve seen some sad attempts at earrings strangled in crochet, and strange fabric scraps passed off as brooches, but I’ve rarely liked something enough that I would consider buying it.

These necklaces subtly combine knit flowers in muted colors with bright, vibrant beads–or, in the case of the choker, jaunty lace. Don’t get me wrong–I love knitting, and am rapidly falling in love with sewing. When you’re a beginner, it’s hard not to be so enthused that you want to wrap your entire body in examples of your new craft. But there’s a fine line between being hand made, or hand altered, and looking as if a yarn store picked a fight with you. PaperFlowerGirl definitely won that fight.

haha! these are WAY more beautiful than the ones I found! love them. have a great day!
Those necklaces are gorgeous!!! I am going to put them on my birthday wish list, mwuahahahaha. They are absolutely beautiful. As for the Patchouli sign, I couldn’t drive by it and not take a picture. I used to work with a woman who thought patchouli was the way to go, ick!
I’ve always liked knit flowers on jewelry. I think they look kind of natty and weird, but still pretty.
Holy hell—I recently subscribed to Bloglines and somehow forgot to add (or messed up while adding) your blog! I’ve missed so much! It’s great fun to ‘catch up’ though.
I’m happy you liked the interview on my blog!! :)
Wow! Thanks for your wonderful post about my jewelry!
