Brushed Roses
I can’t even remember now how long ago I read about various crafters making Amy Butler’s pattern for lounge pants out of bed sheets. I think it was my lack of success with it more than a year ago that had me browsing to see if anyone had altered the pattern.

Given how much I love revamping things, I’m not sure why it took me so long to browse the racks of sheets at the thrift store. This brushed cotton covered in roses caught my hand more than it caught my eye–so soft! My first choice for a pattern would probably have been in a stripe but I can live with a floral–especially one with such a Victorian, vintage feel.

Hemmed in eyelet with a ribbon drawstring and ready to wear tonight after UFC.

What a great idea! The pants looks super comfy, love the floral pattern too!
Well done! We leave and bam, you create beauty! Thanks for housing and laughing with us.
No UFC for us tonight- boyfriend is under the weather so we stayed in and watched the “Lockup” marathon. Such masculine things to talk about when pretty pretty lounging pants are on display!
I love these! The sheet you found is perfect for this.
I like the roses better than the trial run print anyway. :)
Looks cozy!
Those look so comfy! That’s a great way to recycle sheets, too!
they look so snuggly!
have a look at my blog, I’ve given you an award!
Lovely! That print is gorgeous and they look so comfy :)
Oh! I simply adore the fabric design! Gorgeous! I often forget to raid the linens sections at thrift shops… definitely need to hit those next time I’m out and about. ;)
I love using sheets. More than half of my fabric stash is linens and bedding from the thrift store!
Everyone and their mother was watching UFC the other day. I missed it. Those pajamas are awesome. I am so envious of your seaming skills.
[...] Unfortunately, the limitations of using a mens’ shirt meant I couldn’t cut the fabric on the bias as the pattern calls for. I could tell as the main body came together that it was going to be a bit shapeless so I cut my losses by binding the edges in the same floral cotton I used for my pajama bottoms. [...]
