One in a series of the Jewellery Handbook collection, The Rings Book would have been a perfect companion when I was taking a metalworking class at Pratt.
From basics like stone identification to more complex tasks, this book has enough detail for a beginner but I think enough challenge for someone more familiar with soldering and such.
And there are tons of pretty pictures to go with the instructions.

When you said Pratt my ears perked up but I was thinking of the one in NY/Brooklyn. What a cool book! I have always wanted to try metalwork (I would love to try ironwork as well, but am too wussy and have no upper body strength) and it’s something I am looking into taking a class in as soon as my cashflow is a bit stronger.
I’d luv jewelry, i do my own but haven’t gotten around to metalwork classes so this book is perfect, great giveaway!

Oooh! I took jewelrymaking in high school, and by far my favorite piece that I made is a ring in sterling silver and mother-of-pearl. I’d love to get back to it again!
