Substitute Window Ledge
While a sofa provides a place for me and my potential guests to sit, I’ve found that it’s played a far more important role for the other member of my little household.

Because this building has been outfitted with new windows, the sills are nonexistent–they’re taken up with the tracks of the double paned glass. Stanley’s tried to perch there, paws unevenly spread over the tracks, but was clearly happy when the loveseat showed up.

I particularly like when I’m sitting at my computer and he inclines his head to make sure I haven’t gone anywhere.

Posts about horrifying leggings, things I’ve bought that I love, and random crafts will resume tomorrow.
And congrats to Emily, who won the Rings Book in last Sunday’s giveaway! I hope it can offer even the slightest piece of wisdom to such a talented metalworker.

Hey Ambika, what beautiful photos! Your cat looks like a relaxed little munchkin.

Love that last photo of Stanley. :) And the couch – the couch…! I LOVE it. Where oh where did you find it? It’s beautiful – I love its lines… You know what I love the most, though, Ambika? Your style is shining through at your new house… It really was a little bit lost at the old place – like something was amiss and didn’t make sense… And now, here you are, with a space that reflects who you are and you are filling it with all the wonderful things that you want. It’s perfect. And the couch – I’m serious that I want to know where you got it… :)
love,

Bautiful! Photos of cats alway make me go aaaawwww!
Oh, how I wish to be a cat sometimes… This is one one those times.
Your neighborhood looks so quiet and nice. Very cute kitty.
What a little love!
Cute sofa and an even cuter furry companion :) Write about whatever you like! I enjoy it all :)
Maria, you know, I don’t think of my style as being overtly feminine but there’s nothing like living with a guy to realize that it actually is. I was happy to find a medium ground, and adored the midcentury style of the house– but being on my own and being in a home from a very different period of architecture (not to mention it’s *much* smaller) has definitely made decorating easier.
Oh, & it’s from Macys! Carried exclusively by them, it was actually on back order for a few weeks.

It’s pretty much permanently on sale.
Adorable images of your sweet Stanley. (love his name, too, btw!) And I’m loving the little sofa/loveseat as well. :) (thanks for the shopping info!)
I love your Stanley! I also love that loveseat. It’s gorgeous! Your home looks so cozy and comfortable.
Such a nice place!
These shots of Stanley are adorable! He must be quite the companion when you’re working on new craft projects on rainy days.
Aww, such cute photos, love them!!
what a cutie!!!! the people across the alley from me and one flight downstairs have a cat like that. i often peep into their apartment, not to see the people, but i’m always curious what the cat is doing.
your Stanley looks like he’s a very special furry fellow.
that new sofa is the sweetest!
love the shape.
Such a cute loveseat! I have a bunch of macy’s giftcards I want to put towards a couch, but I think we have to wait until we’re not worried about a puppy tearing it apart.
What is it with pets and sofs? I swear my dog is the only one in the household who fully utilizes mine.
The inclined head towards you – totally endearing! I love your sofa, mostly because of the 1930a/1940s vibe and also because I have a VERY similar sofa.
This is adorable. :) Stanley and your loveseat are both precious!
Your cat is ridiculously cute! And checking up on you.. bless
