Greek Punishments & Boots
The great boot search begins again. Partly because I wore them to death, and partly because I walk every where these days, my miraculous black boots that actually fit my calves are just about done. So the quest begins anew, kind of like a Sisyphus version of shoes.

Both of these are by Pikolinos, a brand I’d never heard of before but with a great simple, style I can appreciate. The price is a little steep of both of these pairs for my blood, but I’m willing to pay more this year if that means they’ll last longer.

I’ve always been partial to both of these brands; Miz Mooz and Blowfish tend to be comfortable, with a funky style that can still translate into every day wear.
As you can see, I’m even considering a slight heel for some of these though I’m not sure that will actually translate well to constant walking–and I’d hate to buy a pair that then never get worn–which is what happened with the first pair of boots I splurged on & finally sold after they sat in my closet for ages.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

got these in black from the nordstrom sale, so so comfortable!
Another Miz Mooz convert right here; the pair I found in New York last year is getting a lot of wear this season because it’s one of the few pairs that will accommodate my calves and still let me tuck my skinny jeans into them.
I think I like the wedge heel ones the best – they look great and the most comfortable. I’ve been searching for two years for the right boots so I get it.
My boots have been done for since 2007. I still haven’t been able to commit to a new pair. I look, I even buy but then I take them back. I just can’t do it. Why is boot shopping such a chore?
Ooooh, heels are prettier for sure, however, if you are going to be doing alot of walking in them, definately flat heels. Maybe two pairs are in order? I had to get a pair of “flash” boots for going out in, and then flat heeled ones for everyday..it doesn’t pay favour to your piggy bank, but it might be a better investment in the long run. Good luck with whatever you decide.

So hard to choose between more pretty + less practical vs. less pretty & more practical. Why should we have to decide? Well, I saw a grey leather bag that looks kind of sumptuous and I thought I would share if you haven’t seen it yet — real leather, not “vegan” leather: http://www.sundancecatalog.com/PRODUCT/Women/Footwear+%26+Bags/Bags/49235.html
Good luck on the great boot hunt. I just bought a 2nd pr. and really regret the purchase. I was with a couple people who talked me into it, which is not my typical shopping mode. Should have walked away (no pun intended).
Crazy thing is you thought about those boots for a couple months, looking at the old post you linked.
I’m partial to the 2 black on the left based on the idea that the soles look comfortable for walking.
Elaine at clothedmuch.blogspot.com has complained a lot about her miz mooz boots cracking. I know she walks a lot, but she blogged that she was done giving that brand a chance.
Thank you everyone for the suggestions and comments. As Shona noted, it’ll probably still be weeks before I make up my mind!
